What started out as a new year's day birdwatching walkabout became an abbreviated, washed-out, sight-seeing jaunt. It wasn't cold today, but it was raining. There was thick fog, and it was dark and gloomy. So I photographed buildings instead of birds. These King City landmarks were still attractive in their own ways. Finely-crafted stonework, even when soaking wet, appears dignified and solid, and that is how I shall start the new year: dignified and solid. It won't last long, based on past experience.
