Nature Canada's 75th anniversary photo winner

'Loon and its chick'
A panel of celebrity judges helped select the top images in Nature Canada's recent 75th Anniversary Photo Contest and a grand prize winner was then selected by a public online voting process.   The grand prize winner was Monte Comeau for his photo submission of a 'Loon and its Chick'.   His photo will appear on the cover of Nature Canada's 75th Anniversary Calendar and Mr. Comeau will receive a Tenquille Lake Expedition in British Columbia's Coast Mountain Range, provided by Copper Cayuse Outfitters.   Although Canada does not have a designated, national bird, the Common Loon (Gavia immer) is high on the list of candidate birds whenever the subject is raised among Canadians.
