More Trumpeter Swans mark winter's approach

Many Trumpeter Swans continue to pass over the Oak Ridges Moraine and through King Township in early November.   The scene above is the large pond at the Schomberg Sewage Lagoon site, east of Hwy. 27 and south of Hwy. 9, adjacent to the Trisan Community Centre. There were six of the big birds here and no doubt many others are to be found on the numerous small lakes and large ponds on both slopes of the King Ridge.   While driving about the concessions and sideroads, I have seen several small Trumpeter groups flying overhead in a south-easterly direction.
