These then were the very welcome visitors in the backyard on Christmas Day.   Missing were the Hairy Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, House Finch, Purple Finch and House Sparrow.   Maybe they are waiting for Boxing Day to make their appearances.
Please comment if you wish.

Similar list for me except no red breasted nuthatch yet but have the white breasted nuthatch and today the hairy woodpecker showed for the first time. Unusual winter here, no snow and mild.

Absolutely beautiful photos! I discovered your blog quite by accident but I'm glad I did. My mom could have probably added to your list as she "fed the birds" every day until she passed on and spent hours watching their antics. The blue jays would irritate her every now and again if they chased off the smaller birds but she knew they'd be back.
