Photo of female by BarrytheBirder
Here's another Grosbeak I find in my part of the world (southern Ontario). It is the Evening Grosbeak, which is easily identified by its colouring (both the male and female). It also has a distinctive big stocky bill. In winter it frequents feeders but its numbers and range limits vary greatly from year to year. In the the early 2000s, there has been a substantial decline in its numbers.
