ALL the BIRDS of the WORLD...

Photos by BarrytheBirder

I have finally received my copy of All the BIRDS of the WORLD.   It is 971 pages and weighs 6.5 lbs.   The editor is Josep del Hoyo and it was published by Lynx Edicions in Barcelona Spain.   The cover photo (above) is by Alain Pascua.   10,989 species are presented in this book with 19,736 illustrations included.   This single species book replaces my incomplete collection of the 17 volumes of The Handbook of the Birds of the World , by the same publisher, which I had started collecting about 20 years ago.   I eventually donated them to the King Township Library, in my home town of King City, Ontario.   Now and in the future I can see what every bird in the world looks like when I read or hear a bird name.   This should keep me occupied for a while.
Please comment if you wish.

Does this book include any form of description, or only drawing and range?
