'Meleagris gallopavo'
I photographed these Wild Turkeys on the Oak Ridges Moraine in King Township. These birds are the largest gamebirds in North America. They are a bit smaller and more slender than the domesticated variety. Males have dark iridescent bodies, red wattles and bare-skinned heads that are blue and pink, plus spurred legs.
