A brooding female Canada Goose is seen on a nest in the MacKenzie Marsh in north Aurora. Below is her nearby male mate keeping watch over her.
I spotted and photographed three nesting females today. The one above also had a male nearby, while she peacefully snoozed. Below is another snoozing female who was intruded upon by two male Mallard ducks (bottom photo). Her mate immediately arrived and the ducks made a quick escape.
