Resplendent Quetzel (Pharomachrus mocinno)
National Bird of Quatemala
The Resplendent Quetzel is the national bird of Guatemala. It is a small bird found in Central America and southern Mexico. It lives in tropical forests, particularly montane cloud forests. It is a spectacular sight with shimmering plumage of metallic blues, greens and reds.
