The Antillian Crested Hummingbird (seen here on a visit to Antigua) is just one of three hummingbirds normally found in Antigua. The 'Antillean Crested' is the hummingbird most often seen in on the island nation. It is a tiny bird between 8.5 cm. and 9.5 cm. Males have an iridescent green mohawk-like crest. They are perky, inquisitive inhabitants of parks and gardens, woodlands and scrubs. The other two 'hummers' are the Green-throated Carib and the Purple-throated Carib.
