Generally speaking, most larger birds will intimidate smaller birds at the backyard feeders, such as the the 8.5" Red-winged Blackbird (pictured above) shooing away a 6" House Sparrow. All birds at the feeder seem to do it to smaller birds but when it's a blackbird it seems more malevolent. It doesn't matter whether it's a raven, a crow, a grackle, any of the other blackbirds...even a starling, we label them as big bullies. It's not that I don't like blackbirds. They are part of nature's rich pageant, like any other creature, and we all have to eat.
