Last Trumpeter Swan at McKenzie Marsh?

After photographing several Trumpeter Swans in Aurora's McKenzie Marsh back in May, a visit this week produced only this single swan, above.   I have no idea why this one bird would be left behind by the rests of the Trumpeters that surely moved further north.
