Photos by Bob Kemp
What a treat to receive photos from my British Columbia friend, Bob Kemp, during the bitterly cold recent days in southern Ontario. His photos include the the Steller's Jay, at top; the Anna's Hummingbird, below; then the Northern Shoveler Duck , and at the bottom, a group of Green-winged Teals. I hope Bob's photos take some of the deep January chill out of your day.

Absolutely beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I've found Stellers to be amazing mimics. One cold winter morning I was scraping ice off the car windshield and heard the call of a loon. My first thought was to rescue it (-20) and then what was I going to do with it till April. The sound was coming from a short distance in the bush . AS it turned out it was a Stellers Jay .I'm just glad he was the only one who saw me running around in the deep snow with a beach towel. Since that time I've been fooled by the sounds of hawks ,woodpeckers , squirrels and cats.
Nice shot of the Green Wings in flight - just wondering , did a Cinnamon (top right) photo bomb the group. Any thoughts?
