Nine Canadians have been named as prize winners or honourable mention recipients in the 2014 GBBC photo contest. They were among 48 overall winners and honourable mention recipients in six categories in the worldwide contest. Below are the Canadian award-winning photos and the names of the photographers. The GBBC is a joint project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society with partner Bird Studies Canada. Between February 13 and 16 of this year, participants from over 100 countries counted 5,090 species, representing nearly half the possible species in the world.
