It's that time of year (mid-April) when you can once again tell the difference between the male and female goldfinches. I took this picture a few minutes ago, in the backyard.
The males have almost completed their change to bright yellow breeding plumage. They are a welcome sight, indeed."Time for your close-up, Mr. G".
